Silent Hills is the ninth installment in the Silent Hill series, which was developed by Kojima Productions under the direction of Hollywood director Guillermo del Toro and game designer Hideo Kojima. When creating the main character, the appearance of actor Norman Reedus was used. The game was based on the Fox Engine. A demo version of the project called P.T., which appeared at the Gamescom 2014 exhibition in Cologne, told the story of an unnamed hero caught in a time loop in a haunted house. P.T. has been downloaded over a million times. However, an internal conflict within Konami led to Kojima’s dismissal and the termination of relations with other key development figures.
